How about some Italian this week? I was thinking about posting a recipe for Beef Burgundy, but nahh… I’ll do that next week maybe.
Ingredients: 2 tbsp virgin olive oil 1 lb ground beef (you can also combine ground veal or Italian sausage) 1 cup pancetta bacon chopped 1/2 onion diced 1/2 cup carrots chopped 2 diced celery stalks 1 tsp of roasted garlic 1/4 cup white wine 1/4 cup light cream 1 can whole peeled tomatoes (quartered) 1/2 can beef broth 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp parsley 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp basil Grated Parmesan Cheese 8 oz cooked fettuccine (boiled with a little salt and olive oil) Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions 1. Sauté onions, carrots, celery, garlic in olive oil until tender 2. Add in the beef, pancetta, and spices 3. Cook until meat is evenly browned 4. Pour in wine, cream, broth, and tomatoes 5. Simmer over medium heat for about ten minutes adding salt and pepper to taste. 6. Serve sauce over fettuccine topped with Parmesan |
